With the addition of Marvin Bagley III, Sierra Canyon will be hard to stop during the 2016-17 campaign. The kid is the real deal…and then some. Image by PopScout.
Sierra Canyon High School is the MaxPreps Preseason #1 team in the nation for 2016-17…and rightfully so. The team has four legitimate soldiers in the likes of #1 Junior in the class of 2018 Marvin Bagley III to go along with Seniors Cody Riley, Remy Martin, and Adam Seiko. Based on their showing at the Alemany Showcase held at the new Sports Academy in Newbury Park, CA on October 15, 2016, it will be tough for teams to deal with the ‘Fab 4’ and their supporting cast – as Sierra Canyon plays an uptempo style of ball that’s going to make opposing coaches cringe as they watch film in preparation of taking them on. All of SC’s seniors have punched tickets to major Division I programs, so there’s no stress involved on the recruiting end. Just go out and do your ‘thang’. The four also played together this summer with Phoenix Phamily during the ultimate Nike EYBL circuit so chemistry was well developed and cohesion solidified.

Take a look at a few clips of Marvin Bagley III as they take on Fairfax and El Camino Real during the Alemany Showcase. The target is definitely on his back and it appears as though he wants it no other way. Sierra Canyon has a locked and loaded schedule, playing in major tourneys across the country. When they return to Cali’, look for Bishop Montgomery – ranked #7 in MaxPreps preseason poll and Chino Hills – ranked #15, to pose a threat to their chances of winning it all. But at the end of the day, Sierra Canyon should indeed run the table, going undefeated in 2016-17.
