It’s another season.  Time to show everyone what you’ve been working on.  As a team, it matters even more that players are on the same page and buying into their coaches’ philosophy. It’s been a grueling summer – two a days, triple digit temperatures, and no one to hit except your teammates.  Friday night lights have arrived.  Time to pull out your bag of tricks and elevate your squad to the next level.

Reseda won their road game against Chavez although it took some regrouping and focus.  Chavez looks like a school that’s on the rise.  Reseda, nonetheless, was able to gain its composure and win by a score of 30-14.  Take a look at the offense and defensive units this year.  Reseda looks to bring home that D2 ring to the San Fernando Valley, come playoff time.  Come out and see Reseda host Cleveland Friday, September 8, 2017 at 7pm.

The Regents face Hollywood High Friday, November 25, 2016 to see who moves on and plays for the Division 3 Crown.  Playing a day after Thanksgiving, let’s hope the turkey doesn’t slow them down.  Image by PopScout.

The Reseda Regents  have advanced to the semifinals of the Division 3 CIF Los Angeles City Section playoffs.  The #2 Regents are undefeated this season at home and look to keep their streak alive when they host #7 Hollywood High School November 25, 2016. Reseda took care of business, handling a gritty West Adams squad by a score of 40-12.  It was a good game – in that – the Regents got a chance to see what they’re made of by holding West Adams’ nifty QB in check.

It’s going to come down to who wants it the most, as both teams will look to execute and limit their mistakes in order to move on to the Championship game scheduled December 3, 2016 at El Camino College.  Hollywood High comes in feeling good about themselves after taking care of business against the #1 ranked team in DIII, defeating Torres by a score of 27-21.   Reseda will look to their two QB rotation as a means to keep Hollywood off guard.  The Regents have been effective utilizing both #7 Michael Martin III and #9 Zack Almora at the QB position.

At the end of the day, it’s win or go home baby, with both teams looking to play one more game in December.  Special teams – and the little things – may play a big role Friday night, so let’s hope coaches and players have been in the lab, addressing weaknesses and making sure everyone understands that it takes a team effort to win a championship.  From the coaches, to the players, to fans and parents. No one wants to go home with that bad taste in your mouth, thinking that you could have given more.  Lay it all on the line come Friday Night under the lights. But no matter the outcome, both teams should be proud of themselves for making it to the semifinal game.   Great season for both teams looking to make it a special year.

Here are the highlights from the Reseda vs West Adams game.  Like they always say…big time players, make big time plays, in big time games.  Looking forward to seeing who steps up big Friday night.
