Boss Hogs going at it. Day 1 of The Classic @ Damien
Tuesday, December 26, 2017
We take a look at a few games that should shed some light on whose the true boss hog in Sunny Southern CA, during day 1 of The Classic @ Damien.
Platinum Division
Pasadena vs Corona Centennial 7pm
Pasadena has one of the best back court duos in the State. Cen10 has a young and hungry squad with nothing to lose. The Bulldogs may be a bit more experienced and overwhelm a younger Corona Centennial. Should be a great action packed game,
coming down to who can execute the most down the stretch.
Alemany vs St. John Bosco 530p
Alemany is beginning to find its groove. St. John Bosco comes in with a chip on its shoulder. Should be an interesting match up, seeing which team can perform at their best on opening day, keeping their hopes of winning the ‘Ship alive.
Taft vs Etiwanda 230p
Coach Taylor is missing a few pieces. He still showcases Sr. PG Kihei Clark who’s headed to Virginia and will keep Taft in many games with his back court running mates. Etiwanda is always a tough out as this season should be no different. If Kihei gets into a zone, it could spell trouble for Etiwanda.
Oak Park vs Culver City 1130a
Mr. Postman and the brothers are wearing true battle scars, going up against Findley Prep during a recent Arizona showcase. Culver City is well coached and boasts Arizona native Tevian Jones. Both coaches are known for pulling rabbits out of their hats, so this should be a good one for the coaches clinic notebook.
Damian vs St. Bernard 830p
Damian has a nice trio in place and gave Sierra Canyon a real scare. St. Bernard has the pieces to make a game of this one. Coaches will possibly need to draw something up to escape with the W.
Gold Division
Redondo vs Windward 5p
Redondo has one of the flashiest back-courts in their division. Windward has UCLA commit Bernard. Will be a battle of the guards with RU possibly having too much fire power for Windward.
Los Altos vs Seattle Prep 8p
Always nice to see out of town teams come to play CA squads. Los Altos should get an idea of how their club would fair on a national stage. A good showing should provide us an insight of how far Los Altos may go in 2018.
