Ones to Watch – Ribet Academy’s Justina King

Focus. Desire. Passion.  Three qualities PopScout Scouting Services look for in a student athlete who we consider should be able to make the leap from High school to the D1 playing ranks.  Don’t get me wrong, we also have to consider – among other intangibles –  natural playing ability and whether or not a player can be special when their teams needs someone to Hold the Rope. After watching a few games of Ribet Academy play this year, as well as seeing them prep during the 2017 Fall Showcase at Lynwood High, we would like to introduce you to Justina King.

Scouting Report

We like the natural skills of this young lady, as she looks like your prototypical D1 PG.  Nice size, solid basketball IQ, and that unique ability to show leadership qualities at the PG position. Pushes the rock with confidence, vision to make solid passes, and the ability to finish with both hands.  We loved her performance during the 2017 Lynwood Fall Showcase and she hasn’t disappointed during Ribet Academy’s early season Tourney games.  Handles the PG position extremely well, shows advanced passing ability, but will need to pull the bow and arrow at times (become a deep threat shooter from outside and beyond the arc) to keep defenses honest and garner more D1 recruiting opportunities.

We’re looking forward, during the John Burroughs tourney this week, as Ribet Academy is headed on a crash course collision with Powerhouse Alemany of Mission Hills.  It’ll be a great test to see if this young lady can show up and show out, establishing herself as a one to watch on the D1 recruiting trail.  Stay in the lab young lady.  PopScout thinks you have something special.  I’m sure by seasons’ end, recruits will begin to feel the passion you exhibit out there on the court.  Take a look at a few clips of Justina in action against Mayfair, December 4, 2017, during opening Pool play of the John Burroughs Tourney hosted by John Burroughs High of Burbank.
