Stud Muffins

If you thought the girls hoops was lacking in talent in sunny Southern California, then think again.  It’s the same thing on the girls side family.  Players in the lab working on their game, in hopes it translates to success on the court.  Let’s take a look at a few stud muffins who bring their A game each and every time they lace ’em up.

6’9 Center
Ribet Academy
Class of 2018
Oregon State Commit

We don’t like to throw the saying ‘smooth as a babies booty’ around too much but this young lady has talcum powder all over her game. The Number 7 player (ESPN Gurlz Hoops) in the Class of 2018 is a 5 star stud muffin who changes the game with a multi-faceted approach. Handles the rock like a PG with solid decision making and confidence. Shoots from long range with a very nice stroke for a big.

Plays well around the basket with a nice touch and finish, showing a good feel for the game. Ball fakes from perimeter, maintains solid footwork, and gets to the bucket to finish or draw the foul. High IQ prospect. Supreme leader on court with an uncanny ability to make her teammates not only better, but also passionate about the game of basketball – passion resonates throughout this young ladies game. Will be an elite college player at the D1 level. Has signed with Oregon State

#23 Ryann Payne

5’8 PG
Sierra Canyon High

Class of 2018
TCU Commit

Look out opposing guards ’cause Ryann looks as though she will take no prisoners during 2017-18. Really, really, really,  like what we saw out of this young lady during the Lynwood Showcase October 28, 2017 at Lynwood High.  Has the full set of tools any D1 coach looking for an uptempo guard dreams about.  She runs the PG with supreme confidence, stops and pops with consistency and smooth stroke, solid defender on the defensive end of the court, and a natural leader for her Trailblazer team that will challenge for CIF Title come March.  Ryann has punched her ticket to TCU.

Myrrah Joseph

5’10 Forward
Class of 2018
Carson High
Hawai’i Commit
Lets just call this young lady Ms. Fundamental. After having a chance to see her play  last season against Sierra Canyon twice, and shine in both games, then take her game on the AAU circuit and put up work for Team Taurasi during the 2017 Las Vegas Super Showcase, it’s apparent that this young lady understands the game of basketball.  Solid post play with superior feet and soft touch around the basket. Crashes the boards and protects the paint . Her mental approach to the game is what makes her special, as she comes locked in and focused to play when she steps on the floor.  Solid all around game from mid range in.  Will look for her to rebound and push more to facilitate the break and expand her game.
