Sitdown with Ernie Sears

It’s your time to be a boss. Newly crowned seniors will move into the spotlight and take on a much bigger role – trying to lead their squad to championship status.  One player looking to make an impact is Alemany’s 6’4 SG Ernie Sears.  Sears is rated by ESPN as a 77 scout grade – 3 Star Prospect.  After watching film on this kid, we see that the intangibles are there. Good athleticism, nice all-around game, and a high basketball IQ. We do hope that he develops more confidence on the court – many times we could see him checking the bench to see if coach is on his case.  We hope that Coach Meeks loosens the reigns on this thoroughbred and lets him go.

We sat down with Ernie during the 2016 Nike Fairfax Summer Tourney. Ernie didn’t play too much this tourney due to coaches decision. We definitely like the demeanor and character of this kid, who is also a great high jumper for Alemany’s Track and Field Team.  Not only will he look to win a CIF track and field medal, but he will be on a quest to capture 3 straight mission league titles.  Good luck in your quest to become great young man.
